Then we will move onto, how to make life like feathers which will give your birds a realistic finish, and also cover scissors and angles with detailed close ups showing you the technique that I recommend. With practice you will master these essentials for feathering.
Feathering Techniques Part 2
In this 30 minute video I will demonstrate how to remove the bird from a dark background and prepare the edges ready for feathering. How to apply the feathering technique to create fabulous feathers, fluffy life like flowers and also how to use the feathering technique for grass. Close ups will show you the techniques that I recommend and with practice you will create beautiful feathers, flowers and grasses.
Feathering Techniques Part 3
In this 87 minute video starting with a small bird, you will learn how to build a convex tail with the bird facing the front. You will see how to support the tail and why.
The second bird is of a medium size and the tail has a side view with long narrow feathers which are usually a bit of a challenge at times. I will show you a technique for cutting these tail feathers which when you apply it to this bird or any bird with a similar tail it comes together easily and is really effective.
The last bird is large and has a spectacular fanned tail which is also slightly concave. You will learn how to smooth down ridges on the edges after cutting the pieces out, and how to keep track of your feathers even though they appear similar being all white. This tail is amazing as you will see when it is completed..
Feathering Techniques Part 4
Wings are an exciting part of a bird when created in paper tole. In this 87 minute video, you will learn how to create four different types of wings, two closed wings and two open wings.
The 2 x 2 technique is used on all three birds we are building and you will be happy to find out how easy it is to use. You will be very comfortable putting it into practice when you follow the information I share with you throughout the video. When you master this method it will enable you to apply it to any birds you may wish to tole.
The information I offer you is concise but detailed making it a guide for tolers who wish to learn feathering, or as an update for advanced tolers who may wish to expand their knowledge in feathering techniques.
